Welcome to the
Burnley and District Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired

(Registered Charity : 221896)

An independent charity based in Burnley, Lancashire

We meet at the Vanguard Community Centre, 65 Bevington Close, Burnley, BB11 4SD on Wednesdays from 2pm until 5pm.

It is a lively group with around 40 people who attend and we have a variety of different activities each week, some being Exercise Class, Craft Class, Speakers, Baking and many more.

On arrival you will get a drink and at 4:30pm afternoon tea is provided free of charge.

Weekly transport to and from home can also be arranged.
TravelCare buses will collect you at approximately 1pm and take you home again after the meeting. This again is provided free of charge.

We do ask for a donation of £2 a week to help with the cost of the room rent.

We have a number of trips out each year - mainly in the Summer months.

We can also offer help and advice about coping with your disability and many of our members and volunteers will be only to happy to talk you through any problems you may have.

If you think this would be of interest to you, come along or give us a call.

We look forward to meeting you.
